These two have been married for like 7 years, but don't these look like engagement photos? So fun :) Andrea and my sister used to work together, and it was fun meeting her and her husband and spending some time with them in San Juan Capistrano. I am really loving these shots. Although we were threatened with rain (a few drops fell) we still managed to have a great shoot.

Now that Christmas is approaching is January tends to be a slower month, I am hoping to get my blog all up to date...I have shoots from August that have yet to be posted! Where does the time go?

It is safe to say that I absolutely love the yellow flower fields. I am so grateful that they have been thriving for so long and that I have been able to take advantage of their beauty with so many of my photo sessions this season.

This cute family happens to be our neighbors and our friends. It is always fun photographing people you already know (although I really enjoy meeting new people too!) I love the colors in these photos and the happy faces :)

Surviving the Crazy | Southern California Photographer

This is my final stretch of the crazy holiday family photo season and it looks like I am going to get through it alive.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for all of your support and encouragement...it really wouldn't be much fun without you!

My blog is going to be on the back burner while I finish up the last of the family photo discs that need to be sent out, but I will be back soon.

I also should mention that I love where I live.

Family photo sessions at the beach in November are kind of fabulous. This family was in town visiting from the midwest. I think they like where I live too ;)

Christmas Trees & Spring Flowers | San Juan Capistrano Photographer

This photo shoot was a little bit of a contradiction. On one side of the road we shot in yellow spring flowers, on the other side of the road we were prancing in between Christmas trees. It was also 80 degrees outside and the end of November...Southern California can't make up it's mind. I am not complaining, I like to see it as the best of both worlds. A little seasonal weather would be nice, but I will enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

It was raining today and I had an engagement session scheduled whether it be rain or shine. We were working with a really tight busy schedule so we didn't have any other option. I was a little worried about the conditions and I was praying for the best. The best was what we got. I met up with Elissa & Trevor at Los Rios Street and the rain cleared up and we had some perfect fallish weather for photos...it was wonderful.

Doesn't Elissa have the cutest dimples? I think so too.

So I photographed this family way back in August in honor of baby Ruby and the foundation her parents have started to carry on Ruby's legacy and to spread awareness on organ donation. Ruby's parents have organized a 5K and 10K run in Rancho Santa Margarita on January 7, 2012 to raise money for their foundation. Register for the run now, it is for a great cause! The Getting family was a dream to photograph, they are so photogenic and we had a beautiful afternoon down at the beach. I am really appreciating that sunshine we had seeing as how it is cold, rainy and windy today (although kind of cozy too :)).

If you are wondering if I am behind on blog posts (again) the answer is YES! So behind. I keep discovering photo shoots from months ago that I never did a proper post on. Sometimes blogging alone is like a full time job. I love it, don't get me wrong, but it definitely takes some time.

These pictures are from 100 years ago, or maybe, just a few months ago, at the Montage. I love doing toddler portraits; toddlers are surely some of my favorite subjects.

This little baby Charlotte is just too sweet, and she has an incredibly handsome big brother that likes to love on her. I photographed Luke two years ago when he was a newborn and I hadn't seen him since...it is so fun to catch up with families and to see how things have changed and how their kids have grown (and how their families have grown).

I should mention that I am obsessed with their house too. I think I might just have to move in.

On Friday I offered mini-sessions in Laguna Beach in honor of Ruby and the Taylor family. All proceeds from these sessions went directly to the Taylor's to help cover Ruby's medical expenses.

Friday wasn't the best day. I was so devastated by the loss of little Ruby, it was tough. I was sort of dreading leaving my house, but doing these sessions made me so happy and I am so grateful that I had support and awesome clients that also wanted to do something to help out the Taylors, even if it is something so small compared to their huge loss.

I love you Taylor family - you are in my thoughts and prayers all day long.

A long long time ago I had the opportunity to shoot this awesome wedding in Laguna Beach. Tiffany & Kojo are so fun and vibrant and really fun to be around. They bubble over with personality :) I loved when I got to shoot their engagement photos and shooting their wedding was just as fun, if not even better. I am terrible at deciding and narrowing down which pictures to blog so this is Part 1 of the two part...possibly 3 part...post. As I sit here eyes glazed over, halfway awake waiting to hear news on Baby Ruby, I decided to do a little blog post from a maternity shoot I did awhile back. Megan & Art are expecting their first son (and first child) in September and I could not be more excited for them. There is something about holding your first newborn baby, becoming a first time parent, that is like nothing else in this world. So as I am sitting here excited for the miracle of life and birth of Brody, I am also anxiously hoping and praying that Ruby is also gifted a miracle and that she can be gifted life through a liver donation.

BUT...seeing this family was worth the wait because they are SO cute. I love them. I love that they have 5 beautiful girls and that they ooze with sweetness.

p.s After loading these pictures I realized blogging time would be cut back significantly if I posted fewer pictures. I might have to seriously consider that. But then I fear I would spend far too long decided what pictures to post if I only uploaded a few. Hmmm...what to do?

Oh how I love photographing returning clients and this was no exception. I first photographed Hanna in San Clemente and then we met up again to get some shots of her and her brother in San Juan Capistrano. It is always so pleasant when photographing Hanna because she is the easiest client ever and so happy and easy going. Here is a little peek from this evening down by the Montage. The tide was up very high so we didn't spend much time on the actual beach, but I am loving how they turned out.

Autera Wedding Part II | Orange County Wedding Photographer

Here are some more pictures from the Autera wedding that I had promised I would post. It really does amaze me how fast the time goes and how long ago this wedding already feels. I hope the bride & groom don't feel like it was a long time ago though...I hope they are still enjoying themselves and some sweet honeymoon bliss.

I love the location of this wedding, the Black Gold golf course. Not only is it pretty, but the wedding coordinator they had there on the day of the event was great to work with and was helpful and kept things organized.

And the flowers that Kelly & Tyler had were beautiful and so perfect. Megan's Garden did a fabulous job.

I love photographing 6 month olds (favorite baby stage of mine!) It is extra fun to do a 6 month shoot when it is for someone that I had photographed as a newborn. I love seeing how babies change and grow, and it is wild how fast wee little people develop their own personalities.

Here is a little peek at Luke's shoot today. He was teething and a little tired but we were still able to get some great shots and I love his sweet eyes.

Home Again | San Clemente Photographer

I am home from vacation and getting back to work tomorrow. We traveled out to Virginia to my parents' and then drove up to the Jersey Shore to revisit where I spent 7 years of my childhood.

It was so nice spending time with my family in the sunshine. I love summer. I love my family. I love babies in bathing suits.

This is hands down, the most meaningful set of photos I have ever taken. I have not known Ani very long, but soon after meeting we became fast friends and discovered we had a lot in common; grew up in the same area, we are the same age, played the same sports (well, soccer), got married around the same time, have a love for photography and we both have two baby girls around the same ages. Ani's baby girl, Ruby, is very sick with a rare liver disease and needs a liver transplant (whether from a deceased or living donor) in order to see her first birthday. Although this family is facing one of the toughest trials of their life, they still manage to be uplifting, spiritual, inspirational, faithful, and have a positive outlook on things. I have learned so much just from being around them, and I don't think I have ever met a sweeter family. Ani is my hero and I cannot help but to look up to her. This family is so special and I think about them every single day *big hugs*

I have edited 4 pictures from last weekends' wedding, and here they are. I was getting more and more excited with each picture as I loaded them onto my computer, so hopefully everyone else loves them as much as I do. I love my job. Not just my job at being a mom, but my photog job. Sometimes it is overwhelming and tiring, but there is something so exciting and fun about capturing people in all stages of life. One of my favorite things is photographing people right before they are about to welcome new life into the world. I photographed this family just 3 days before before Quincy was born. So fun. I often tell my clients to touch cheeks, meaning, to put their faces together. This is what happens when you tell a two year old to "touch cheeks"...

Aren't they cute? I don't know what is wrong with me but I think two year olds are loads of fun...I don't believe in the terrible twos. Well, maybe somedays I do.

Well tonight I was back at the beach spending some time with her and her family. So beautiful. So sweet. So perfect. Such a blessed little family and I was happy to be there photographing them and all of their love for one another.

Marissa was my first friend ever in California. In the summer of 1994 my parents moved our family to California from Wisconsin. While I was getting a tour of the school I would be attending that following fall, I met Marissa. And now, here I am taking her engagement photos (and her wedding next year in Santa Barbara!). I am so happy for her and so proud of her as she goes through med school (makes me tired just thinking about it). Congrats Marissa & Colby...I am so excited for the two of you :)

My sweet little Harper Ray turned 1 on May 29, 2011. It was the quickest year ever but filled with the most memories yet. Everyday just gets more and more fun (although at times, exhausting) and I thank my lucky stars for these two beautiful little girls that I get to call mine. We celebrated Harper's birthday at home with our friends and Sprinkles cupcakes.

Way back in April I shot this Laguna Beach wedding with Kelsey Steindler Photography. It was a perfect day, and loads of warm sunshine. Since our weather has been slightly unpredictable, that was a real treat :) Jeremy & Jennifer took their before pictures at Pines Park in San Clemente and then we headed down to Laguna for the ceremony and reception which where at Tivoli Terrace. The flowers were gorgeous, the centerpieces were cute, and I loved the somewhat down home yet glamorous feel. Jennifer is an artist herself, you can check her work out here.

Remember my little sneak peek of this shoot? I love this shoot. I loved the colors, I love the lighting (where has the sun been lately people?), I had cute models, and it was in a awesome location (my very own neighborhood). Tj & Emily are getting married this fall and I am so looking forward to their wedding.

Way back when, what feels like centuries ago at this point, I shot this wedding in Laguna Beach at Tivoli Terrace with my teammate Kelsey Steindler. The weather was perfect, the setting was pretty, and Kels and I had so much fun photographing the girls in downtown Laguna before the ceremony. Here are some pictures from our day, which by the way, is near impossible to narrow down and I never know how to decide what to post. How do people decide? Maybe I will have it figured out by the time I post the next wedding :)

This couple is so sweet and so kind and so easy to work with. Their little boy is one lucky little guy with two happy parents that are so excited to meet him. We took these pictures at the flower fields right before they chopped all of the yellow flowers down. I took my maternity pictures here last year in the same spot, I can't believe how fast the year passed me by.

I am already looking forward to the flowers again next year...they are so happy and whimsical, I can't get enough.
